Travel Writers, Bloggers Are Visiting Springfield

The Convention & Visitors Bureau recently hosted two travel bloggers and at least nine more are expected in the city this spring.

Debra Ross, owner and writer at and Connie Reed, owner and writer at visited area attractions in March. Ross, who traveled with her teen daughter, visited attractions that appealed to youth while Reed, who traveled with her husband, visited attractions that appeal to baby boomers. Some stories about the city are already posted on their sites and more are expected.

The CVB also is working with bloggers for press trips May 7-10, 14-17 and 28-31. The nine bloggers who will participate have not yet been selected.

The bureau also will conduct a press tour May 7-9 for five members of the Western District of the Society of American Travel Writers who are attending a conference in Branson.
