Marketing Workshop Set for April 19 in Columbia

The Missouri Travel Council is hosting an educational workshop set for 9:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m. April 19 at the Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center in Columbia.

The theme of the workshop is marketing and promotion with the following topics planned:

  • Are you Maximizing the Resources of the Missouri Division of Tourism? If Not, Why Not? They’re Free!
  • The Power of Story
  • Crowdsourcing Inspiration from Locals and Visitors
  • Placing the Right Story in the Right Place

A Best Practices Panel and Cracker Barrel session also is scheduled.

Sean Dixon, interactive media manager at the CVB is presenting the session about crowdsourcing. He will tell the story behind LoveSpringfield.co and share insights learned and their impact on future marketing efforts.

Cost of the workshop is $45 for Travel Council members and $60 for nonmembers. Lunch is included.
