U.S. 65 Construction Begins in July

The Missouri Department of Transportation announced a construction project that will close portions of U.S. 65 for most of the summer begins the week of July 10.

Route 65: The Rebuild includes upgrading guardrails, rebuilding shoulders and replacing pavement between Kearney Street and Sunshine Street with “major traffic impacts” expected.

The highway will be closed in segments (between interchanges) in one direction at a time with traffic detoured using Interstate 44 and Route 360/Route 60. A map of the detours is available at http://bit.ly/Rt65Detours.

A second and final public meeting to announce the contractor’s schedule is set for 4:30-6 p.m. May 16 at the MoDOT District Office, 3025 E. Kearney Street.
