Travel Media Visit Springfield

Despite the pandemic, some journalists are starting to travel again for destination features.

In September, the CVB provided press passes to travel media so they could explore the city and produce stories about their fun experiences.

Carolynn Mostyn is a freelance writer whose outlets include some Gannett newspapers. She traveled through the area while researching a story about traveling on Route 66. Matias Menis produces content for “Only in America,” which includes a Facebook page, YouTube Channel and Trip Advisor content.

Also, coming to the city next week are Susan and Bill Dragoo on assignment with “RoadRUNNER Motorcycle & Touring Magazine.”

We’re looking forward to seeing the stories they produce.

CVB Press Pass Program

A big thank you to all the businesses that participate in the CVB press pass program and those that help with other needs when travel media visit the city.

Businesses participating in the press pass generally offer complimentary admission or other items for up to two adults and two children. Prior to giving a press pass to someone, the CVB vets the media to make sure they’re legitimate and likely to produce content that could generate travel to the city.

If you want to know more about adding your business to the press pass, contact Susan Wade at swade@springfieldmo.org or 417.881.5300, ext. 101. There is no cost to participate.
