Melissa Divincen is the new partner development manager for the Springfield, Missouri, CVB. Ms. Divincen is responsible for advertising sales in bureau publications and on the Web site. She also manages the Marketing Partnership Program, which provides CVB services for businesses outside Springfield city limits. She comes to the bureau from a position as assistant director of the Greater Springfield Area Sports Commission, an organization managed by the CVB.

About 1,000 athletes are expected to participate in the National Christian Homeschool Fall Sports Championships Oct. 28-30 in Springfield. Soccer, volleyball and cross country events are scheduled along with a tip-off basketball tournament.
Lake Country Soccer will host the 26th Annual Fall Classic sponsored by Springfield’s Incredible Pizza Company Oct. 15-17. With 166 teams participating, it will be the largest single weekend tournament ever at Lake Country Soccer.
About 2,700 players are expected to participate – 45 are local and 121 from outside the area. The players, parents, coaches and those coming in to watch the games are expected to generate about 1,452 room nights at local hotels.
